Emily has been photographing for over twenty years. She has been exhibited in various cities in Italy, and her photographs have been featured in the New York Times.

About Emily

She attended the Liberal Arts program at Pepperdine University, graduating with a BA in Fine Arts in 2008. At the age of twenty two she moved to Italy, where she furthered her studies in the Italian language, painting, processing and printing in the darkroom, and archival processes, such as platinum palladium photography. Self-portraiture was an ongoing project which became a therapeutic way for her to release feelings and turn them into something tangible.

Emily’s Writing

The Knoll

She wears a cape of winter grey
draped over her shoulders bare
they call her Prim
bow to dance
her suitors unaware,
of victims past and
lovers gone
regarding false identity,
mounting her in cold dominion
riding her absentmindedly.

A path is laid with daffodils
heads heavy from winter rain,
would you stand tall
Crowned
Radiant
if thousands trampled your mane?
